Lori has been caring for babies for as long as she can remember. She started babysitting when she was twelve years old and has always been enamored with newborns and babies. Whether it was volunteering to care for the babies in a MOPS group, working in church nurseries, leading the local chapter of Newborns in Need, or assisting at births, it has always been Lori’s desire to care for newborns and help new parents in any way she can.
Lori and her husband raised four children and then Lori became a labor doula. It wasn’t long after becoming a labor doula that Lori realized she wanted to add other credentials to her resume. She became a childbirth educator, a postpartum doula, and a lactation educator. She has added infant massage, sleep coaching and is currently certified through CACHE as a newborn care specialist and has graduated from an intensive 3 year program which covered all aspects of business, mentoring and advanced information about caring for newborns.
Lori has taken extensive courses and is current on the latest industry standards and recommendations. In addition to the courses she has taken, Lori is also trained and current in pediatric and adult CPR, AED and basic First Aid. Lori is constantly growing and learning and adding courses and workshops to her resume.
To date, Lori has thousands of documented hours in newborn care and has provided professional care to families for close to two decades. She has experience with preemies, singletons, triplets, adoption, foster care, surrogates and families of all different backgrounds and also specializes in caring for multiples.
Lori lives in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, just south of Knoxville, Tennessee. She has experience working for domestic and international families. Lori is available for daytime care, overnight care, 24/7 care and is willing to travel with families . In addition, Lori travels across the country to provide infant care.
